Earlier today, more than 1,500 team members from the Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) plant celebrated the start of production for the all-new 2017 Honda Ridgeline. The Alabama plant will be the sole manufacturer of the convention-challenging pickup which is set to go on sale soon at dealerships nationwide.
"Today we celebrate the dedication of our Alabama team in bringing a very innovative new pickup truck to market," said Jeff Tomko, president of HMA. "I congratulate all of our associates for their commitment to our customers as the Ridgeline returns with new features that will deliver even more of what today's truck customers want and need."
The American-manufactured Ridgeline will launch with several new features that are unlike anything currently in the midsize pickup segment. A unibody construction, sophisticated chassis, and available i-VTM4 torque vectoring AWD system deliver superior on-road performance, ride quality, cabin quietness, and all-weather traction capabilities.
The Ridgeline is also designed to be the ultimate vehicle for tailgate parties. Class-exclusive features include an In-Bed Trunk, a dual action tailgate, and the first Truck Bed Audio system in the industry.
The HMA plant also produces several other award-winning Honda light-truck models, including the Pilot SUV and the Odyssey minivan, both of which have earned Top Safety Pick or higher designations from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
