It's a yearly tradition. The public votes and eight marching bands from Historically Black Colleges and universities (HBCU's) compete in the Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB) Invitational Showcase to duke it out and find out which HBCU has the best band!

Honda Battle of the Bands 2018

This year marks over fifteen years of HBOB tradition, which has given a platform not only to exceptional marching bands but also HBCU culture, notes Stephan Morikawa, the VP of Corporate Relations and Social Responsibility for Honda. HBOB allows not only Honda but also the general public, to support the dreams of students of HBCU's such as Alabama A&M University, Hampton University, Langston University, Tennessee State University (and many more). Of course, the final eight bands are dependent upon who the public votes for.

Honda Power of Dreams Award

The HBCU Power of Dreams Award was "established by Honda to honor those extraordinary individuals taking action, and moving the HBCU Community forward." In addition to voting for their favorite band, the public can nominate outstanding, innovative students from HBCU's at Honda's Battle of the Band's website.
